Online Stores: You will either find cheap "no-brand" asian tables or good quality American tables at inflated prices. Some companies have even resorted to making up brands and sticking brass-plates to pool tables in an effort to convey authenticity. Also, most internet companies selling pool tables online have been in business for a few years at most.
Traditional "brick and mortar" Pool Table Stores: These operations are a dying breed. To afford the tremendous operating costs of maintaining a store and a large expensive inventory, they MUST make a sizeable profit on each table sold. These factors also lead to a limit on the pool table selection.

True pre-squared, factory-assembled frames.
These premium pool tables are crafted to meet or exceed the Billiard Congress of America standards. We specialize in solid hardwood pool tables.
Detailed construction specs can be found in the description of each billiard table. |

The cheapest tables (like the ones you find on EBAY) are KNOCK-DOWN tables. This means that the frames/cabinets are completely disassembled. BEWARE of these. They lack the critical rigidity and perfectly-squared dimensions/stablity of afactory preassembled body. It's also nearly impossible to find installers who will deal with the hundreds of parts required for installation. |

There are two ways to cure lumber: At the lumber yard or at specialized curing facilities. When the lumber yard cures wood they do many different types in the same giant batch. This DOES NOT WORK. Various woods have very precise temperatures and times at which they become cured. This is how legs, rails and cabinets become cracked months or years after you've purchased and the company you bought from has disappeared.
The Greenleaf Billiard Co. always has their lumber transported from the lumber yards to outside curing companies before construction.
If you've found a cheap table that seems to measure up to the slightly more expensive tables, then you've likely found "yard-cured" lumber. How the wood is cured is the type of detail that inexperienced customer service reps won't have an answer for...or will hesitate on before answering. You'll know the truth as soon as the rainy season hits a few years down the road and your legs begin to split. |

We use BCA-recommeded 1" thick, diamond-honed, 3-piece slate with a 3/4" lumber slate backing. |
Some vendors are selling pool tables with inferior 3/4" thick slate. Some offer slate with no backing. Some offer 1 1/8" slate. The thicker slate is unncessary and simply adds cost as they make an effort to set their products apart from the rest of the market. |

Our basic accessory kits feature quality solid maple 2-piece cues, shatter-proof billiard balls, a wall rack and more. We are the only company to offer a premium accessory kit featuring Aramith Premium billiard balls. With a pool table this elegant, we refuse to spoil it with cheap accessories
Some sites offer fine accessory kits. Others offer the cheapest kits they can find. Cheap balls often crack. Cue sticks can be warped. Unless a company actively stresses the quality of their accessories it can be hit or miss. |

Every pool table on our website is backed by a MANUFACTURER LIFETIME WARRANTY.

Look very closely here. You must read the fine print. If you find a Warranty offered by the manufacturer it's fine. If you find one offered by a website/vendor watch out. It's very easy for a website to disappear and startup as a new site after they get swamped with warranty claims. |

Notice how few companies offer installation? That's because installers won't work with a company whose products are difficult to install, require continued service calls or whose products always arrive damaged. The fact that we have invested the money and time into developing a nationwide installer network speaks volumes about the quality of our billiard tables and the quality of our company. |

Most other companies don't offer professional installation or make a reference to "helping you find an installer". Installation is critical in the billiard table industry. If they don't clearly offer the option of installationyou've either found a questionable company or a company with questionable products. |
